Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are reaching out to inform you about the Impact Aid Program, a critical source of federal funding for our school district. Your participation in this program directly supports our efforts to provide quality education to all students. Below, we’ve outlined what Impact Aid is, why it’s essential, and how you can help by completing a simple survey. Miami Public School’s Survey date is December 1, 2025. Surveys will be sent home that day.

What is Impact Aid?

Impact Aid is a program under Title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act that provides financial assistance to school districts that are impacted by federal activities. This includes districts like ours that educate children whose parents are in the military, work on federal properties, or live on Native American lands. These funds help cover the cost of education and maintain a high standard of learning in our schools.

Why Your Participation Matters

The amount of Impact Aid funding we receive depends on the information you provide in the Impact Aid Survey. Completing this survey ensures that we receive the necessary resources to support educational programs, classroom materials, and other essential needs.

What is Considered a Federal Job or Federal Property?

For the purposes of the Impact Aid Survey, federal jobs and properties include:

  • Active Duty Military: Parents/guardians serving in any branch of the uniformed services.
  • Federal Employment: Parents/guardians employed by the federal government or working on federal properties such as:
    • Federal buildings (e.g., courthouses, post offices, military bases)
    • Federal agencies
  • Native American Land: Families living on or working on Native American lands or associated with tribal organizations.

How to Complete the Survey

  1. Fill in Student Information: Include your child’s name, date of birth, grade, school name, and home address.
  2. Federal Property Details: If your child lives on federal property, provide the name of the property. This includes Native American lands or low income property.
  3. Parent/Guardian Employment Information:
    • If employed on federal property, fill in your employment details.
    • Employed with a tribal organization, fill in your employment details.
    • For active duty military parents, provide branch and rank information.
    • For foreign military, include the relevant government and rank details.

Please ensure all information is complete and accurate. The form must be signed and dated to be valid.

Complete and return the form by December 5, 2025 to ensure our district receives full funding support.
