Bond Committee Meeting Summary – November 11, 2025

Recent Posts

The bond committee met on November 11 to discuss next steps following the recent bond proposal being voted down. The group focused on identifying where to go from here and how to better support the community’s understanding of the district’s needs.

Next Steps & Options

  • The committee reviewed the two available paths forward:
    • Introduce a new bond proposal in February, as long as it is meaningfully different from the October proposal.
    • Rerun the same proposal in August, if the district chooses not to modify the plan.
  • Members emphasized the importance of evaluating both timelines carefully and ensuring any future proposal is clearly communicated to the public.

Reflection on the October Vote
The committee discussed what went well and what challenges may have affected the outcome. Everyone agreed that more comprehensive and consistent information needs to be shared with the public. Community members need to fully understand the district’s needs, the purpose of the project, and the long-term impact on students and facilities.

Land & Environmental Information
Mrs. Douthit updated the committee on current work related to the property involved in the proposed project. She has continued gathering information and recently received communication from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.

Our next meeting is Dec 2nd at 12:00 in the Board Room. Everyone is welcome!
