Miami, OK — Miami Public Schools is proud to announce Pam Bevis as the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Heart of a Wardog award. This honor, which is based entirely on nominations from district staff, is presented annually to one outstanding individual who exemplifies the values and spirit of the late Angie Douthit.
Angie Douthit served Miami Public Schools with exceptional passion and integrity for many years. Following her passing in 2019, the district established the Heart of a Wardog award to celebrate her legacy by recognizing individuals who reflect her commitment to education, her powerful ability to connect with others, and her tireless drive to make a difference.
This year, Pam Bevis received the highest number of nominations from staff across the district—a reflection of the deep respect and admiration she has earned from her peers. Her colleagues describe her as:
- “A true team player with a deep commitment to collaboration”
- “Someone who consistently brings out the best in those around her”
- “A motivator who unites staff toward shared goals”
- “A hardworking, dedicated educator with a strong passion for excellence”
- “An advocate for both students and staff who lives out the mission and vision of MPS”
- “An uplifting presence who leads with heart, integrity, and perseverance”
Pam’s unwavering school spirit and her focus on building authentic relationships embody what it means to live the “Wardog Way.” She has made a lasting impact on Miami Public Schools and continues to serve as a model of excellence and dedication.
We congratulate Pam Bevis on this well-deserved recognition and thank her for the positive difference she makes every day in our schools and in the lives of those around her.
