Miami, OK – May 8, 2024 – Miami Public Schools proudly announces the appointment of Keni Iverson as the interim superintendent. Iverson, who previously served as the assistant superintendent, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the Miami school district.
With a career spanning decades in education, Keni Iverson has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a steadfast commitment to student success. As assistant superintendent, Iverson played a pivotal role in implementing innovative programs and initiatives to enhance educational outcomes for all students.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Keni Iverson stated, “I’m excited to get back to the Wardog Way and do what’s best for our students by working collaboratively with our admin and community so we can build a strong foundation for the next superintendent.”
During her tenure as interim superintendent, Iverson aims to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and academic achievement within Miami Public Schools. Her deep understanding of the district’s needs and her passion for education uniquely positions her as a capable leader ready to build a strong culture and unify our community through strengthened relationships.
The Miami Public Schools Board of Education is confident that Keni Iverson’s leadership will continue to propel the district forward on its path of success. The Board of Education has engaged the Oklahoma State School Board Association (OSSBA) to begin a search for the next superintendent. “We are committed to finding the right fit for moving our district forward,” McKibben said. The official search process will begin July 1, 2024.
